Due to the immortality of the night elves until recently, the language has been remarkably unchanging for 10,000 years. Its daughter languages, [[Thalassian]] and [[Nazja]], share much of its vocabulary and phrases, but the former has diverged a bit and the latter remains largely a mystery to all living on the land.
