Article text: PAGENAME is a night elf druid in service of the Guardians of Hyjal. ==History== Born nearly a thousand years before the fall of Queen Azshara, Beornulf was a loyal servant of the Empire. He became proficient in alchemy and herbalism while living in Ashenvale. At 530 years old, he married and had three children in rapid order. ===War of the Ancients=== He was not initially affected by the war, but demons eventually entered his distant parts of the forest. His wife and children were slain. In despair he wandered the woods for years. ===Salvation=== Many years after the Sundering, he came upon Malfurion Stormrage. Beornulf saw the value in what Malfurion wielded; he joined him and in time trained to be a druid of the moon. ===War of the Shifting Sands=== Beornulf served in the Cenarion Circle as a druid of the moon in Feralas. He was summoned to Silithus and served under Fandral Staghelm for the duration of the War of the Shifting Sands. Most of his barrow den died by the end. ===Third War=== Beornulf was awakened from the Talon Den, Stonetalon Mountains, toward the end of the Third War; the tending dryads were already burned by demonic fire. He was stunned by the sheer scale of the damage that had already occurred. ===A New World=== Beornulf serves from Forest Song, Ashenvale, against the encroachment of the Warsong clan. ==Design Notes== Beornulf is Old English for "warrior wolf". Scefing is from Old English scēfing "son/descendant of Scef", otherwise spelled as Sceafa. Though I personally pronounce it as /ˈskeɪfɪŋ/ for the purposes of this name, it should actually be pronounced closer to /ʃeɪvɪŋg/, which is vaguely closer to the actual Old English pronunciation. If I were to have written it more in line with Modern English sensibilities, it would have been something along the lines of Sheaving.
