The cover of Worlds Without Number.

This gaming project is written atop Kevin Crawford's Worlds Without Number, a tabletop roleplaying game that is in turn based on older editions of Dungeons & Dragons. It is largely considered an Old School Renaissance ("OSR") game and is mostly compatible with other OSR games.

Core Ideas

  • Attacks are done via 1d20 in order to show the variability of combat.
  • Skill checks are done via 2d6 in order to show the consistency of one's skills.
  • Focuses may alter your character and even provide new skills.
  • Health pools are relatively low due to the deadliness of combat.
  • Non-magical healing is slow, so resources should be conserved for when it is not possible to return to a safe town.
  • Magical healing is costly enough to give pause, both for the healer's resources and the strain on the recipient.
  • Resurrection is rare and difficult.

This section is a stub. It has incomplete information and will hopefully be done in the near future.
