This project is an attempt to emulate the worldbuilding of older Warcraft lore. It builds upon the RTS games of yesteryear, the TTRPG books from White Wolf Publishing, and the early days of World of Warcraft. While the lore itself is primarily the work of Blizzard, the functional parts are based on Kevin Crawford's Worlds Without Number. This particular game is based upon older editions of Dungeons & Dragons.

Regarding the Name
Azeroth is not owned by Blizzard as either a trademark or a copyright. Blizzard owns Battle for Azeroth specifically. Formerly they also owned the Heroes of Azeroth trademark in relation to trading cards, but this has lapsed.
A suspicious Chinese company using a Gmail address owns the Azeroth trademark since 2022 in relation to pet feeders, but has not yet released any products with that name seemingly.
