The rush'kah is a wooden[1] ceremonial mask worn by shadowhunters.[2] It is used to channel the spirits of the wearer's Loa.[3] Many shadowhunters wear these unique masks to cover their features and inspire fear in others.[2]
While donned, the mask grants the wearer the ability to see invisible and incorporeal creatures. It also provides the wearer a measure of protection against evil spirits and undead.[1]
Trivia
The earliest artwork shows only shadowhunters wearing rush'kah, whereas later games and art show witch doctors and various other trolls also wearing them. This appears to be poor art direction ultimately.
