Pricoliches[1] are powerful worgen masters of blood magic from Vorgendor. They rose to power as the worgen became increasingly corrupted by blood magic during their war against the Burning Legion.[2] Pricoliches are capable of dominating other worgen, stripping their servants of free will and reducing them to obedient soldiers.[2]

History

The worgen turned to blood magic in desperation during their war against the Burning Legion, known to them as the "Emerald Flame". The magic gradually corrupted their race and came to dominate their society, while the pricoliches rose to power as its masters.[3][2]

One pricolich deceived Velinde Starsong by presenting himself as Elune and granting her the Scythe of Elune. Unaware of his true identity, Velinde used the Scythe to summon worgen to Azeroth to fight demonic corruption. Although the summoned worgen initially fought effectively against the Burning Legion, the influence of the pricoliches eventually overwhelmed Velinde's control over them.[2]

At least two pricoliches have since reached Azeroth. Keeper Gnarlmoon established himself in Karazhan, where he draws power from the tower's dark magic. He is a blood mage of legendary power who has practised the darkest forms of magic for centuries.[4] Father Lycan, a self-described "preacher of blood", travelled from Vorgendor through the Silverpine Forest and became involved in the affairs of Gilneas. He claims to have pierced the veil between his world and Azeroth and describes the feral worgen already present there as sentries and foot soldiers preceding a possible conquest of the world.[5] Lycan allied himself with Celia and Mortimer Harlow, teaching them practices involving the consumption of raw flesh and blood that strengthened their victims while making them increasingly addicted.[5]

Gnarlmoon and Lycan now seek to open a portal to Vorgendor.[2]
