Tanlerel Suncharmer

Tanlerel Suncharmer is a high elf mage in service of the Alliance. He served Dalaran for years, but has since joined the Silver Covenant. Though he is specialised in frost spells, he has since taken a keen interest in necromancy in light of the destruction wrought by the Scourge.

History

Second War

Tanlerel was serving Dalaran as a researcher at the time. While he grieved for the horrific damage done to Quel'Thalas by the Horde and its dragon slaves, he took the opportunity to study the demonic magic of the orcs. The fascination turned out to be largely useless, as he could rarely get to the frontlines or could only find dead orcs long after the battle was over.

Third War

He continued his minor research in the Hillsbrad Foothills, entirely unaware of rumours of plagues and walking horrors to the north. When refugees suddenly started arriving en masse, he joined the local militia and other mages in securing the provincial borders to the northwest. The coming undead were a shock to behold, but he instantly recognised a similarity to the magic of the orc warlocks and death knights. It took hours to defeat the undead and he was exhausted from the efforts. He spent days scouring the area for samples and interviewing survivors.

He did not see the final battles or even any major conflicts of this war, just as the previous one. His frustrations grew endlessly. He became obsessed with these undead, wondering if they were related to the undead of years prior. In time he heard of the fall of Dalaran and Lordaeron, but he was shocked when he heard that his own homeland was dead. Though he had been away from Quel'Thalas for decades at a time, his pain only made him more obsessed with defeating the Scourge.

Current Day

He forsook his ties to Dalaran, never sure what was happening in light of the destruction of its capital. He was approached by the Silver Covenant in time and took to staying with their leadership in Stormwind. He remains deeply concerned about the undead and his samples are always lacking. Though he travelled to Theramore once for information, he did not feel comfortable so far away from his research lab and in turn so close to the orcs.
