Turtle WoW
Turtle WoW was a private server that operated between October 6, 2018, and May 15, 2026. It was based off the 1.12.2 client of World of Warcraft, the final version before the first expansion. Its own lore was developed as a departure point from 2006 and did not rely on anything created after that. It was enjoyed by many thousands of players before becoming the victim of Blizzard's lawsuit and is considered by many to be a prime example of how to do "Classic+" content, with or without Blizzard's endorsement.
Multiple servers were spawned from its death, including Capycraft/Capybara Paradise and OctoWoW.
